Anttron A181 Wideband CATV Amplifier – 21 dB Forward, 10 dB Return & GaAs-MMIC 230 VAC

The Anttron A181 is a wideband CATV amplifier specifically designed for CATV installations handling both digital and analogue channels. Its die-cast aluminium chassis and GaAs-MMIC transistor technology combine to produce a compact unit with high linearity and efficiency, suitable for trunk and distribution applications.

The amplifier includes separate forward-path gain adjustment (0–18 dB range), slope adjustment, and return-path gain adjustment, allowing the installer to compensate for cable loss characteristics across the full frequency range. A noise figure below 7 dB maintains signal quality even at the end of a long cable run.

Key Features

• 1 input, 1 output — no test output
• Forward gain (85–862 MHz): 21 dB
• Return path gain (5–65 MHz): 10 dB
• Attenuation range (forward and return path): 0–18 dB
• Slope attenuation range (forward path): 0–15 dB
• GaAs-MMIC transistor for high linearity and efficiency
• Die-cast aluminium chassis for compact, robust construction
• Mains powered at 230 VAC

Product Benefits

• Separate forward and return path gain adjustments allow precise optimisation of both downstream and upstream signal levels in two-way CATV networks
• Slope adjustment compensates for frequency-dependent cable attenuation, ensuring flat signal response across the full forward band
• GaAs-MMIC technology delivers high maximum output level (118 dBµV) with low noise for reliable reception at the subscriber end
• Die-cast aluminium housing provides mechanical robustness and effective heat dissipation in continuous-operation installations
• Low 6 W power consumption reduces operating costs in always-on CATV head-end installations
